Every Which Way (Sloan Brothers #1)   By: Calia Read

      Blurb:
Severine Blake has seen far too many friends taken down in the crossfires of dating.
She devises a precise course of action to protect her heart. The plan is working very well…..
Until she meet Thayer and Macsen.

When the Sloan brothers come into her life, nothing is the same.
Every Which WayThayer is a self-possessed, arrogant, and used to getting what he wants.

Being near him leaves Severine unsteady and shaken. He makes her question everything
Macsen contradicts his brother in every way. His calm personality captivates her. Severine is drawn to him instantly.
But Severine quickly discovers that when you want something, that want can turn to wicked. Giving is not always easy, especially when your heart refuses to give up the fight.

What little illusion of love Severine has is soon destroyed. Every option is broken, and the protection she has built around her heart instantly crumbles.

There is just no right way with the Sloan brothers.

My Take
: Severine has had to watch her dad walk away with no problem, and watch her mom pick up the pieces time and time again……..

“You should never show your emotions. Someone will steal them away, and you’ll be left with nothing, Severine… You need to remember, Severine, that a lonely heart is better than a heart left in pieces…”

So she keeps her distance with me so that she doesn't find herself  being left behind to pick up the pieces on her own like her mom Until... The Sloan Brothers.....

When Severine sees Thayer for the first time you know she is drawn to him and I love the feeling you get from them just seeing each other, I couldn't wait for them to spend the time having a conversation, or the fire that would happen when they did.

Then she meets Macsen and sees ever thing that she wants in someone she can have a relationship... She loves how calm and collocated that he is... She wants to have the safeness, and comfort that Macsen seems can offer... I don't blame Macsen for how things happend between him and Severine, I think his mom did a number on him..... Macsen seems so lost.. Macsen was trying so hard to make Severine be what he thought he wanted and/or needed..
When in the end he didn't know what he truly needed he just knew what he wanted....
He wanted Severine to look at him the way she seemed to look at Thayer...

Now I have a lot of respect for Thayer, because no matter how much he wanted to be with Severine, he never interfered with Macsen and Severine's relationship. He was man enough to take a step back and allow them to have the relationship they both thought they wanted, no matter how much it hurt himself.
Yeah he may be a cocky, arrogant, basketball player, but he does't allow that to define who he is.
He allows Severine the time and space to figure out what she truly wants, and who she wants, and how she wants it. He is also there for her when she needs someone even if she doesn't know what she wants or needs.Though he never pushes what he wants on to her.......
I honestly wanted more of Thayer and Severine... I love the way they interact with each other and draw the other in.
I was drawn in from the beginning. I couldn't put it down, and was very sad to see it end.. Although I'm glad she ended it the way she did because that meant there was more to come!

I'd rate this book 5 out of 5!
